Welcome to Empowering Parents UK

Empowering Parents UK was founded to support parents of children with additional, behavioural or special educational needs. We understand the problems parents face against the background of diminishing school support . The service offered by Empowering Parents is unique and deals with each child individually.

about

Our services include ongoing support, advice and training for parents to give each child the opportunity to meet their full potential. After the initial consultation Babs will work with you according to the plan discussed. This will include training on different types of supports you can use at home, advice for schools, filling in paperwork and information about diagnoses.

We offer a free 30 minute consultation to assess the needs of your child, his or her school and home experience and provide initial advice on the way forward.

Our fees

After the initial free consultation a forward plan for your child is agreed and all other consultations and work is charged at £50.00 per hour.

clients testimonials

Finding EPUK has been a God-send for me and my autistic 15 year old. The professionalism is amazing, a quick chat, a glance at letters and results Babs quickly grasped what support my daughter required. The school had an email in 24 hours and within 2 weeks they came back to me with the answers and offer of additional support.

I have 2 children with additional needs, both currently unable to manage school, social situations and sensory processing without support. My son has just been diagnosed with ADHD and ASD and my daughter is waiting for an ASD assessment.
Babs has been a great support to both me and my children with regular visits and communication, providing really helpful information and advice and offering to attend visits with me. I often feel isolated and find parenting my children difficult with their individual needs. Babs has been a God send to me and I don't know how I would manage without her support and understanding.

I have a child with ASD, although he is high functioning and on the lower end of the scale (Aspergers), he has presented many challenges, particularly prior to diagnosis. Mrs Babs O’Hara was a constant source of support during my son’s primary school years. She was always approachable, and informative. She never made me feel at fault for his condition and was a hugely supportive influence at a very difficult time. Mrs O’Hara came along to my son’s diagnosis meeting at the hospital and supported me and my husband both inside the observation suite and outside afterwards whilst we were waiting for the Consultant’s diagnosis. Following on from this diagnosis, Mrs O’Hara was and still is, a huge support. She is constantly positive, both of my son’s progress and of us as a family living with the diagnosis.
